leo sign

Leo, the 5th sign of the zodiac, represented by the mighty Lion, an astrological sign that refers to Greek mythology, associated with the lion that Hercules overcame in a heroic mythological battle. Since then it’s a symbol of strength, pride and courage. One of the brightest stars of this constellation is called Regulus, which means “the little king” and lends some of the magical and regal connotations to the Leo sign.

Leo is a fixed fire sign, ruled by the Sun, associated with the primal force of life, creativity and energetic vitality. The power of the Sun creates a personality full of warmth and confidence. Its fixed mode means that Leos hold an elemental energy of endurance, stability and an assured, well-established and sustained confidence. With fire as their element, the lightest and brightest, they have an affinity for performance, leadership and courage.

Leo Picks

With gold and purple being the colours associated with the 5th sign of the zodiac, as well as its planetary ruler, the Sun, and the Strength tarot card linked to Leo, consider choosing your yoga equipment accordingly.

Portraying the golden sun and feline figures, the Surya Super Grip yoga mat is the ideal choice for Leos and we suggest you pair it with the Solaris yoga pad! For others who prefer purple hues, a great combination that we love for this sign is the Origins yoga mat paired with the Deco Lune pad and the Amethyst Lilac strap.

Leos will love the II. Sandalwood Clove and Cedarwood Cleanser Mist to keep their props clean and smelling fresh!

Moreover, sandalwood, ginger and chamomile are some of the herbs associated with the Leo sign and in combination with its fiery element, we suggest that you indulge yourself in a self-care ritual designed to open Leo’s power chakra, the Manipura aka Solar Plexus. This ritual is a spiritual bath, it is simple to perform and you can do it whether you have a bathtub or a shower!

Solar Plexus Spiritual Bath

Step 1: Light up your smudge stick and use the smoke to clean and declutter your bathroom, tub or shower, laying the groundwork to welcome renewing energy. Place the smudge stick in the ceramic holder. You want to make sure that you are physically clean as well, so after smudging take a quick preliminary shower to cleanse your body!

Step 2: If you have a tub, start filling it with comfortably warm water. When it’s full you can add the bath salts. While waiting for the tub to fill, take this time to brew a big cup of our golden Chai Latte. If you have a shower skip to step 3 and use your bath soak as a scrub.

Step 3: Compliment your bathroom atmosphere by lighting up your candles. Enhance the ambience by setting up soothing music or nature sounds and opening windows.

Step 4: Wear the Malachite Chakra bracelet which activates the Solar Plexus chakra and encourages emotional healing. Before you get into the tub or shower, you may want to say a mantra or prayer aloud that aligns with your intention for the spiritual bath. We suggest this:

I want to Live quietly in the moment and see the beauty of all before me. The future will take care of itself…

Step 5: Slowly lower yourslelf into the bath or stand under the shower with the water running on the top of your head, allowing your body to adjust to the temperature. Soak for about 15 to 20 minutes while trying to be mindful and meditative. Clear your thoughts and relax. Try to do peaceful energy visualizations and imagine the water as golden light.

Step 6: When you get out of the bath, allow your body to air dry naturally rather than with a towel. When you are mostly dry, get comfortable and wind down for another 15 -20 minutes, focusing on your breath. Try belly breathing with exhales being double the time of inhales, this will further relax your nervous system!

We suggest that you perform this ritual ideally on the New Moon in Leo, on July 28th. A new moon is all about transformation, new beginnings and setting visions & intentions for the future. It is a time of rejuvenation and this spiritual bath is ideal to take in the energy from the new moon while opening the Solar Plexus chakra, a source of personal power.
